Today marked the announcement of a long-awaited PrEP programme in Ireland. PrEP will be provided as part of a holistic service that includes frequent monitoring for adherence and side effects, testing for HIV and other STIs, counselling and advice on safer sex practices.

The event focuses on knowing your HIV status with the tagline “Everyone has a HIV status. What’s yours?”.
In the lead up to World AIDS Day, the Sexual Health Centre Cork has launched a report on the Lived Experience of HIV-positive Young People. The report explores the realities of living with HIV in Ireland, associated stigma and its impact on the mental and physical health of the people affected by it, as well the significance of the support services and peer-to-peer programmes.

The Sexual Health Centre is launching PhotoVoice HIV on the 28th November at 5:30pm in St Peter’s Church in the lead up to World AIDS Day 2018.
The goal of PhotoVoice HIV is to highlight the lives of people living with HIV (PLWHIV) and/or their significant others. On November 28th, the participants will get a chance to share their personal insights and experiences in a gallery setting.
