HIRING: Communications Executive Part time, fixed-term
Originally founded in 1987,as Cork AIDS Alliance, to provide support to people living with HIV, the Sexual Health Centre is now a leading organisation supporting and promoting sexual health in Ireland.
The Sexual Health Centre is now seeking an exceptional individual to join our team and help lead the transformation for innovative communication within our service delivery team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the overall communications strategy of the Sexual Health Centre.

The Sexual Health Centre has an ambitious programme to support a society where sexual health is recognised as an integral part of life, barriers to access sexual health services are removed, social stigma and discrimination are eliminated, each individual feels safe to express their sexuality, and people can make informed decisions regarding their sexual wellbeing whilst treating each other’s life choices with the utmost respect.

You’ll offer creative and innovative guidance, to relay key messages into the appropriate organisation areas, drive results focused campaigns and display the flexibility to work across multiple communications disciplines.
This is a part time, fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Responsibilities of your role will include:
Creating an awareness of the Sexual Health Centre and its services to relevant stakeholders, clients and service users
Identifying new client groups and partnerships for the Sexual Health Centre
Creating content for publishing across multiple channels on an ongoing basis
Proactively sourcing interesting and engaging topics and information relevant to our core aims
Managing our social media channels, including writing and production of content, artwork and online assets
Overseeing, delivering, writing and editing a variety of reports on behalf of the organisation
Developing and leading campaigns on behalf of the organisation
Developing and maintaining relationships with local and national media in order to ensure appropriate representation of the Centre and promotion of its services and strategic development
Developing innovative business plans for the Sexual Health Centre in lines with organisational, local and national strategic plans
Developing communications strategies to enhance our client participation
Working with Senior Management to develop and implement the organisation’s internal communication plan in line with the Sexual Health Centres strategic plan
Developing new communication channels, and improving existing ones to drive overall employee, client, volunteer and user engagement
Managing multiple communications campaigns concurrently including co-ordinating and updating content for the organisations website, social media, newsletter and blog
Assisting the Executive Director in writing and submitting grants for funding
Presenting innovative proposals to inform management and the Board of Directors in terms of strategic direction
Provide day-to-day office and administrative duties as required
Manage and update files in the company filing system
Complete data collection and collation for a variety of funders and services as required
Monitor and evaluate work as required, keeping secure written and statistical records of work undertaken and providing reports as required
Represent the Sexual Health Centre at events, conferences, meetings etc.
Achieve volume, activity and income targets as agreed with the Centre Manager
Adhere to the goals and targets of the Strategic Plan for The Sexual Health Centre
Perform other duties commensurate with the nature of the post. It is important that all members of staff are prepared to take on additional duties or relinquish existing duties in order to maintain efficient running of the organisation. All roles will develop and the Sexual Health Centre may change the role scope in consultation with the post holder
Education / Professional Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in Media, Communications, Business operations, Marketing, Journalism to Certificate level (Level 6 NFQ or higher)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and to build strong working relationships is essential
Excellent IT skills
Proficiency in managing major social media platforms, including relevant analytics
Experience in developing and managing media campaigns with excellent results
High level English language and editorial skills
Experience in coordinating and managing events

You will also be someone with a flexible working style with the ability to respond effectively to emerging/unexpected needs
Terms and Conditions
Salary: Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: One-year part time, fixed-term contract
Hours: A 20 hour working week (Monday to Friday, 9am-1pm). Due to the nature of the post, evening or weekend work may sometimes be required.
Holidays: Holiday entitlement is 13 days pro rata annual leave, plus public holidays.

The Communications Executive will report to the Centre Manager.
