The health promotion team at the Sexual Health Centre has been delivering skills-based, gender neutral workshops to youth and community groups, parents and professionals in the Cork area since 1987. They focus on enabling positive sexual health for all.
Our workshops are:
Professional - run by qualified, experienced presenters
Accessible - open to people of all abilities or disabilities and using language you will understand
Comprehensive - covering a full range of information
Interactive - with group discussions , Q&A sessions and role play as appropriate.
We offer group workshops delivered over 3 sessions for young people. These workshops cover a range of sexual health topics to make sure young people are informed and supported around all aspects of their sexual health. The content and length of time for each workshop can be tailored to the individual needs of every group in consultation with their regular group facilitator/s.
The core modules (delivered to every group) are:

Relationships
Consent- (Including sexting, intimate image sharing and the law)
Sexuality and Gender
Bodies
Sexual Activities
Contraception
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
We also offer additional elective modules (that can be selected as per the most relevant issues for each group)

Alcohol and Drugs
LGBTI+ Specific- coming out, support services, minority stress, building resilience
Online safety
Body Image- Photoshopping, realistic expectations and unrealistic standards

Our outreach workers focus on groups who can feel disconnected from society and may not have access to sexual health information and services. These groups include but are not limited LGBTI+ people, people engaged with sex work, people living or accessing addiction services, vulnerable adults and migrants.
Our workshops give people a safe space where they can discuss difficult subjects in a way they are comfortable with.

YMCA is a voluntary organisation focused on helping families, children and young people, particularly those who come from disadvantaged background.
