The WISE tool allows teachers or facilitators a brief moment of reflection to help them to answer questions or deal with comments that they may not be fully comfortable with. It enables them to turn questions or remarks that may seem flippant or disruptive into teaching moments.
Participants are presented with common questions relating to Pregnancy, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Consent and Contraception, and are given the opportunity to apply the WISE tool to these topics. A manual containing support materials is provided to participants on completion of the training.
Training can take place in schools or at our centre.
Each training date at our centre is limited to 8 participants. Training dates in school settings can facilitate larger numbers. For more information, please contact Phil Corcoran our Senior Health Promotion Officer on 021 427 6676 or philcorcoran@sexualhealthcentre.com.
