Become an ambassador against HIV stigma by joining the 2024 World AIDS Day Run today.

On Saturday 30th November, the Sexual Health Centre will host a 5k fun run or 5K walk for World AIDS Day in conjunction with the HSE Sexual Health and Crisis Pregnancy Programme and parkrun, in a bid to tackle HIV stigma and encourage people to test regularly. Established in 2018, the World AIDS Day run has gone from strength to strength and expanded nationally, improving people’s understanding of HIV and awareness of services across Ireland.

Time:
9.30am, Saturday 30th of November.

📌 Location:
This year’s run is being held both in-person in a number of parkrun locations, and ‘virtually’, so that everyone can participate in their own community if they wish. The parkrun events are timed. Join us at:
→ Ballincollig Regional Park in Cork, or
→ Glen River Park in Cork, or
→ Tramore Valley Park in Cork, or
→ Marina Market with Frontrunners in Cork (starting at 10am), or
→ Tralee Town Park in Kerry, or
→ Your local Park Run anywhere in Ireland.

✍️ Registration:
Registration is FREE.
Those who don’t have access to a device or internet can call us on 021-4276676 and our team will complete the registration form over the phone.
If you’re joining us at a parkrun location, please register with Parkrun in advance of the run at www.parkrun.ie/register/ and collect your dri-fit top from us when you arrive.
→ If you’re doing your #WADrun in your local area i.e. not at parkrun, the Sexual Health Centre will post out a free World AIDS Day dri-fit top to your home in advance of the event. Fill out the form below to register. This years t-shirt features the updated Sexual Health Centre logo.

🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️ Bring a friend:
Thinking of reusing your #WADrun top from last year’s run?
→ Let us know, so that we can add you to our participant tally, and why not sign up a friend?
→ You can help us spread the word online before the event, asking your friends to become ‘Ambassadors Against HIV Stigma’.

📷 Selfie!
On November 30th, each of us will wear the dri-fit top for a walk or run to open a dialogue and address stigma in our communities. Make sure to send a photo of yourself in the dri-fit top to the Centre by email or social media, or tag the Sexual Health Centre in any social media posts using the hashtags #WADrunIreland, #WorldAIDSday and #UequalsU. Photos can be sent to info@sexualhealthcentre.com, Twitter (@shc_cork), Instagram (@shc_cork) and Facebook (@besexystayhealthy).
