The Sexual Health Centre is asking Cork’s HIV+ community to participate in a free online creative workshop, as part of a project titled ‘End HIV Stigma’. The purpose of the workshop is to inform the design a public-facing mural in Cork City as well as a small limited publication about HIV in Cork. The discussion will focus on stigma. The workshop will be facilitated by the Sexual Health Centre with support from Positive Cork and ACT UP Cork, and will take place over Zoom on Saturday 2nd October from 10.00-12.30.
Participants will be asked to share their experience via creative methods such as creating poems and/or making a group collage via Zoom. Following the workshop, participants can share any additional artwork that might illustrate their experiences (this could be a poem, a drawing, a photograph, or simply talking about their favourite song).
With the participants’ permission, their contributions (i.e. stories, drawings, collages and poems, etc.) will be collected and published in a small zine (i.e. a self-published magazine) by the Sexual Health Centre. It will be possible for participants to contribute their creative responses under an alternative name, should they wish to do so.
In addition, their stories, conversations, ideas, and poems etc. will be used by the street artist to inform the design of a new public-facing mural in Cork.
If you are a person living with HIV in Cork, and would like to take part in this free online creative workshop, please sign up here via this online form: Form for participants.
