Have your say in the development of a new city centre art piece by Corkβs ArdΓΊ Street Art and the Sexual Health Centre
Cork Wall of Positivity, Thu, Nov 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Background:
The Sexual Health Centre is working with the ArdΓΊ Street Art Project on a HIV Wall Of Positivity. This innovative initiative is the latest in a number of innovations by the Sexual Health Centre; examples include being the first agency in Ireland to offer rapid HIV testing in non-clinical settings and partnering with the Cork Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force on Irelandβs first mobile drugs, alcohol and sexual health mobile unit. We wish to continue to innovate with this mural which will reinforce Corkβs reputation as an inclusive, forward-thinking place to live or visit. This mural will join the ranks of other HIV related murals in Brussels, Barcelona and Paris.
π¬ Why Attend?
βThis piece of art aims to speak to people living with HIV, their allies and to the general public who may be holding onto outdated ideas around HIV. For these reasons it is very important that we have input from a wide number of stakeholdersβ, says Fiona Finn, Chief Executive Officer at the Sexual Health Centre.
The new mural will also bring fresh colour and creativity to the cityβs streets, transforming an ordinary wall into a new visual landmark. This is more than an art project β itβs a chance to shape how HIV is represented in Cork City. --- π¨ About the Event
Join us for an inspiring community consultation led by ArdΓΊ to co-create the βHIV Wall of Positivityβ β a new public mural that celebrates the positive realities of people living with HIV today.
This vibrant artwork will challenge outdated perceptions and promote understanding of U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) β the message that people living with HIV on effective treatment can live long, healthy lives and pose no risk of transmission.
𧑠Whoβs Invited?
This event is open to everyone β including individuals living with HIV, their friends, allies, professionals and anyone passionate about community art and inclusion.
Your voice and perspective matter in shaping this important public art piece.
